We're about half way through the year now. Last week, we looked back on our April releases (read here) and this week we're back with a new Mighty Fan Feature!

Meet François! Hailing from Paris, France. You might know him as @bard_toys on Instagram, most notably for his photos of floating toys. It certainly caught our eyes and we just had to reach out to him to take part in our Mighty Fan Features series!

Let's meet the collector!

How long have you been collecting for?

I have always collected stuff ! I am a pretty materialistic kind of person, I attach great importance to objects.

I discovered Art Toys about four years ago. I started taking a real interest in urban and street art and quickly I discovered artists producing figures like McBess and Jimbo Phillips. I couldn't stop searching for more artists and their works. I became really passionate.

It all started with some Dunny's and some years later... here's I am haha!

How many Mighty Jaxx pieces do you have in your collection? Which is your favourite?

I have around 10 pieces. Most of them are dissected toys by Jason Freeny like the Balloon Dog.

My favorite might be Panda INK: Mafia by Cacooca, or Toshi Neko Alley Cat by ClogTwo... or XXRAY Finn... Jake? I can't choose!

I love these pieces because they mean a lot to me. It is not always a question of rarity or price, but the memories attached to them. Or the feeling I get with what the artist shares. It is really hard for me to answer this kind of question.

Which Mighty Jaxx piece are you looking forward to most?

I am considering getting the Melting Bomb by Jason Freeny! I really enjoy his works and Melting Bomb is another facet of his art style which I really appreciate. I fell in love with the work-in-progress pictures he shared on his Instagram and the final result looks so stunning!

I also discovered Yoskay Yamamoto's works thanks to Mighty Jaxx. If there's ever a Sideways Midnight Edition, it would be instantly in my basket!

Which Mighty Jaxx piece do you consider your holy grail?

Difficult question. I've changed my mind at least 10 times since I found Mighty Jaxx!

I missed so many incredible releases! I think the first pieces I fell in love with was Skull Bomb (Sakura Edition) and Death by Godmachine! But In four years, there are toys like the Anatomical Muckey which I would be proud to own.

There is always a new toy from Mighty Jaxx that could be my holy grail! I'll find it... sooner or later!

Tell us your Mighty Jaxx story!

I actually owned a couple of Mighty Jaxx toys before I knew Mighty Jaxx existed!

I can't pinpoint exactly what made me realise it, but I think it was thanks to an article on The Toy Chronicle. It might have been an article on a Alex Solis figure or one of Jason Freeny's Skull Bombs that introduced me to Mighty Jaxx. I instantly knew I would return. And I wasn't wrong! I bought the XXRAY Finn and Jake very soon after!

I enjoy how Mighty Jaxx toys stay really diverse and original. They have also exposed me to artists I didn't know like Mamafaka, Juce Gace, and Yoskay Yamamoto. All of whom I really like!

It all comes from totally different universes, and different moods, that's something I appreciate with every Mighty Jaxx release. They offer lot and that's a major plus for me as an art toy collector.
